Origami architecture - Church tower

My first ever original origami architecture. It is not that complex. Yet it gave me so much pleasure diagramming a model and completing it.

It is a miniature church tower with out the cross on the top.

You can download the diagram image and print it on A4 sheet. It is diagrammed to the scale.

You need to cut along the dotted lines and fold along the solid ones. Apply glue on the extra rectangle protruding to the left from the first wall and paste it with the last side wall. Apply glue on the extra cones protruding out of the tower cones and paste them with the adjacent cones. You have the church tower ready.

This being my first original, my diagramming and explanation is not that perfect. I will work on better diagramming conventions and explanations as I build more and update the blog :)

I know many would say this is not truly origami as I am cutting and pasting. Lack of better word. May be we can call it kirigami ?

If you build this model, please leave a comment. Thanks.

Origami links

Some of my favorite websites I turn to when I feel like folding something.

http://dev.origami.org/diagram.cfm
I started learning origami from this website. I wish it were a bit more colorful. It contains model diagrams from simple to advanced. Around 700+ models in their model database and not a single ad.

Simple and colorful models. Very good classification of models. This website will make you fall in love with origami. Very user friendly website.

Another colorful website with good classification. It even has animation videos along with model folding diagrams.

Contains lot of model diagrams. One needs to be patient as the pages contain few folding steps per page and you need to keep clicking next/next.

Robert Lang's website. Need I say more? :)

3D origami swan. The technique explained here can be used to create variety of 3D models. Really a test of patience.

This is not really origami in the truest sense. It is cutting and gluing paper to create 3D shapes and architecture. A really nice one. Just a take a print out. Cut along the lines and paste. Hmmm. Not that simple :)

Cannon's creative park. Full of colorful models. Action models, Architecture, Animals, you name it. It has everything and their models are of finest quality and very high accuracy.
